Had to choose between a band saw and a cleaver for breaking down a whole hog last weekend

Picked the cleaver cause my band saw blade was dull and I didn't have time to swap it. Big mistake lol, took me almost twice as long and my wrist is still sore. Anyone else ever cheap out on blade maintenance and regret it?

Last year I went through a whole pig with nothing but a hatchet and a cheap filet knife because my power was out... honestly kinda liked the control I had over the cuts even if my arm was dead after. Sure it takes longer but you end up with cleaner meat without metal shavings or bone fragments from a worn out saw. Not saying I'd do it every weekend but sometimes the old way teaches you something a machine can't.
