Question about a broken band saw during a big custom order

Last Tuesday, our main band saw gave out right as we were starting a 200-pound custom hog breakdown for a wedding. My boss had to run to the rental place in Tacoma to get a replacement, which put us three hours behind. We got it done, but the whole day felt like we were moving through mud. Has anyone else had a key piece of gear fail at the worst possible time?

Look at it as a free stress test for your backup plan. That rental place in Tacoma saved the day, so your system actually worked. A breakdown during a slow Tuesday tells you nothing. A breakdown during a big order proves you can handle real pressure. Getting it done three hours late is still getting it done, and now you know your team can push through chaos. That's more valuable than a perfect day.

Three hours late means you failed the customer, not passed some test.

Totally agree with @ninar12, our truck blew a tire on delivery day and we still pulled it off.
