Wasted $150 on a vacuum sealer that couldn't handle pork shoulder

I bought one of those cheap home vacuum sealers from a big box store thinking I'd save money on bulk primals. First pack of pork shoulder I tried, the seal broke overnight and juice got all over my freezer. Called the company and they said my meat was too fatty for their machine. Has anyone else run into this with a specific model or found one under $200 that actually works with fatty cuts?

That line about your meat being "too fatty for their machine" is a perfect example of how companies sell you something for a specific job but don't actually test it with real world use. In my experience, the whole cheap home appliance market is built on this idea that you can get pro results without pro engineering. Take it with a grain of salt, but spending a little more on a chamber sealer usually handles fatty stuff way better because the seal happens below the juice line.

Chamber sealers are a game changer for sure. Same thing happened to me with a cheap vacuum sealer right after Christmas, had juice all over the counter and a bag that wouldn't seal.
