Dressed up for my final interview at a bank in Charlotte, walked in with my shirt tag still on

So I had this big final round interview with a regional bank downtown Charlotte last month. Spent like $80 on a new dress shirt the night before, got all nervous, and forgot to take the little plastic tag off the collar. Walked in, shook hands with three managers, sat down for 45 minutes. Nobody said anything. I only noticed when I went to the bathroom after and saw it hanging there like a price sticker on a clearance rack. Got the job anyway, but now I check my collar in the car mirror before every single meeting. Has anyone else had a wardrobe fail that somehow worked in your favor?

Three years ago I wore a suit jacket to a wedding and didn't notice the tag until my cousin pointed it out at the reception. Everyone got a laugh out of it, and honestly, it broke the ice with people I didn't know. That's the thing about those small screw-ups, they're only as big as you make them in your head. Now I joke about it whenever someone looks stiff in photos, like I've got a story that makes them feel better about their own goofs. You're right about the confidence part though, once you survive that, nothing else feels that bad.
