Had a brief chat with a senior dev after a standup last Tuesday that stuck with me

She just said 'you don't have to know it all, you just have to know where to look first' and honestly it made me stop panicking about a bug I'd been stuck on for 3 days, anyone else had a random piece of advice hit them like that?

Ngl that's awful advice if you take it literally. Knowing where to look is useless when you don't even know what you don't know yet, which is exactly the situation for most junior devs. Blindly searching for answers just leads you down rabbit holes and wastes even more time than just admitting you're stuck.

Yeah I feel that, it's rough when you don't even know what to search for.
