I keep hearing that you should never turn down a job offer, but that advice cost me 6 months of my life in Austin last year.
Everyone in the career forums says to take whatever comes your way, especially if you're early in your career. I listened and took a data entry role at a tech startup that had red flags everywhere... interviews were rushed, glassdoor had 3 bad reviews I ignored. I was miserable after week 2, stuck in a cubicle with no growth, and got laid off after 6 months anyway. I should have trusted my gut and waited for something better. Has anyone else found that saying no actually helped them in the long run?

Ugh, that sounds like a nightmare. Glad you're out of that situation and trusting yourself now.
