I was sure the 'informational interview' thing was just busywork for college kids, but I tried one last month and it actually landed me a referral.

How many people actually get a job from those? I've done a few and they just felt like a waste of time, like free consulting for the person I talked to. Most of the time they say they'll keep you in mind but you never hear back.

My buddy did like ten of those calls last year and got zero offers. Feels like they just want free ideas sometimes.

Tell your buddy @wood.eric he's not alone, that's basically free labor. They get a bunch of smart people to solve their problems for the price of a Zoom link. It's a messed up system, lol.
