Serious question, does hitting 50 LinkedIn applications in one city make you a local or just tired?
I sent out 50 applications for jobs in Columbus over about 6 weeks and got 3 callbacks, which is somehow both more and less than I expected. The weird part is I got all 3 from the same small company, just different roles. Has anyone else noticed their callbacks all seem to come from one place no matter how many you send?
Getting 3 callbacks from 50 apps is actually a solid hit rate when most places ghost everyone (the average is like 2 percent, so you're beating it). The same-company thing probably just means their recruiter actually reads resumes instead of running them through some keyword filter, which most big corps do now. So the real takeaway is to find more small places like that, not to worry about why one company liked you.
