Spent $400 on a resume writing service. Some friends say it's a smart investment, others call it a total waste. What's your take?

My cousin paid for one of those services last year. It got her past the automated filters and she landed way more interviews. Sometimes you need that professional polish to get your foot in the door.

True, but what if the system flags it as over-optimized?

Honestly, that's a really good point about getting past the filters. I've heard those systems can toss out resumes for the dumbest little things. It makes sense to get some help with that part.
