The 15 minute networking rule that fixed my cold email problem
Last month I was stuck sending out job applications and getting zero replies. A buddy in Chicago told me to stop pitching myself and start asking about their biggest pain point instead. I tried it on 12 people, spent 15 minutes each researching their company on LinkedIn before writing. Four out of twelve replied, which is way better than my old rate of one out of fifty. The trick was making the email feel like a note to a friend, not a cover letter. I even got a phone call from a hiring manager who said my question caught her attention. Has anyone else tried a similar angle with cold outreach or is it just luck? I want to know if this works outside of tech jobs too.

Doesn't that just prove people wanna talk about their own problems, not your resume? Yeah, that's been my experience too. Works way better when you stop selling and start listening.
