Warning: I spent 3 years answering emails at 6am because a manager praised my "fast replies" in 2021
Now I'm debating if promptness is a real skill or just proof I never set boundaries. Did a single comment like that ever wreck your work habits?

Isn't promptness just a habit you built, not some magic skill you were born with? If it were a real talent, then everyone who answers fast would also be great at their actual job, and we both know that's not true. A boss praising speedy replies says more about their love of quick wins than about you having some rare gift.
