Went independent as an HVAC tech 3 years ago, still figuring out how to price jobs right
Last month I underbid a residential install by $400 because I forgot to factor in travel time and material pickup. Anyone else have a system for calculating estimates that actually works?

Use a calculator and cry a little before you hand over the number.

Underbidding by $400 hurts, I still cringe thinking about the time I forgot to account for dump fees on a cleanup job. Do you use a checklist app or just scribble stuff down on paper?
