Am I the only one who got wrecked by a simple stair skirt board?
Honestly, I see a lot of guys online saying they can knock out a stair skirt in an hour or two. Tbh, that was not my experience at all. I had to fit one in this old bungalow in Tacoma, and the walls were just not straight. Every single tread and riser had a different reveal, and the floor ran out by almost a full inch over the run. I spent a whole day just scribing and recutting, trying to get a tight joint. Ngl, I went through three 12-foot pieces of poplar before I got it right. Everyone makes it sound so easy, but when the house isn't square, it's a whole different ball game. Has anyone else had a simple trim job turn into a multi-day fight with an old house?
