Am I the only one who thinks cutting crown flat is faster than coping inside corners?

I spent 3 hours last Saturday trying to cope an inside corner for a kitchen job in Elmira. Finally gave up and cut it flat against the fence with a 45 on both pieces. Fit perfect in 20 minutes. Coping takes skill but for standard joint compound walls, does it even matter? I get that older houses need it, but new construction with drywall mud seems like a waste of time. Who else skips the coping saw and just goes flat? Does your boss care?

What if leaning into that feeling is actually the best way to grow? Sometimes being comfortable just keeps you stuck in the same spot.
