Brand new tape measure failed on me today in the middle of a cut

I was framing a wall in a garage in Richmond and my trusty Stanley tape just snapped the hook right off. Tried to finish the layout with my backup but it was one of those 12 ft cheap ones that won't stand out straight. So annoying when you're 20 ft into a 30 ft run and have to stop. Anybody else have a favorite brand that lasts longer than 6 months?

Ever try a FatMax? They hold up way longer for me.

FatMax is the only tape I buy now, had mine over a year and still going strong.
