Conversation with a trim carpenter changed my mind about using glue on every joint
He told me he only uses glue on miters that are under 45 degrees and I saw how much easier his trim comes off for repairs, so now I stopped gluing every single joint myself, has anyone else found less glue actually holds up better over time?

Well, I'll admit I used to be a full believer in gluing everything myself. I thought it was the only way to keep things tight and strong over the years. But after talking to a few old timer carpenters on my last project, I started to see their point about how it makes repairs a lot simpler later on. Honestly, seeing a trim piece come off without breaking the wall or the wood was pretty convincing. Now I'm a lot more picky about where I put the glue, and I think it does hold up just as good.

Reminds me of a buddy who glued his whole kitchen cabinets and regretted it the first time a pipe leaked behind them.
