Saw a guy at the local lumber yard use a circular saw without a square
He just marked a line and freehanded it. Cut was dead straight. I've been clamping a speed square on every cut for 10 years. Has anyone else ditched the square for simple rip cuts?

Right? I ditched the square too and my cuts got straighter.
