Spent 4 hours chasing a squeak in a staircase I built last spring...

Turned out to be a single nail that missed the joist by a quarter inch... took a helper two minutes to find it after I gave up. Anyone else waste a whole afternoon on something that small?

You see it differently though. Sometimes chasing that tiny thing IS the whole point. Makes you slow down and appreciate the quiet time with your own thoughts, you know? Not saying I enjoy it, but there's something kinda meditative about it once you stop being mad at it.

Drove me crazy for an hour finding a rattle in my car door last month. Turned out a loose penny had fallen into the window track. @ryan_shah38 you're right, the small stuff always takes the longest. I nearly took the whole door apart before my kid spotted it just sitting there.

Man I feel that. Nothing worse than hunting something so tiny forever.
