The toe kick comment that changed my base installs

A homeowner in Dayton pointed out my toe kicks were sitting 1/4 inch proud of the flooring, and I thought he was nitpicking. But he showed me how it caught his boot every time he unloaded the dishwasher, and I've been setting them flush or slightly recessed since. Anyone else have a small detail a client caught that you now check on every job?

Clients notice things we walk right past because we see them every single day. A buddy of mine does drywall and a customer pointed out his corner beads were wavy in the afternoon light. He had to redo a whole wall. Once you hear it, you can't unsee it. Same thing happened to me with a light switch cover that sat crooked. Small stuff like that tells people how much care went into the whole job. Good on that homeowner for speaking up, most folks just grumble and never say a word.
