I finally hated the riverfront the day everyone else loved it
Last Saturday the weather was perfect, 72 and sunny, so I walked the whole riverfront loop in Cincinnati. Every bench was packed, the food trucks had lines 20 deep, and some guy set up a speaker blasting country remixes at 9 AM. I grew up here and always thought the riverfront was the best part of the city, but that day it felt like a mall parking lot with a view. I left after 40 minutes and went to the empty old bridge overlook instead, which was actually peaceful. Has anyone else had a spot get ruined by its own popularity, or am I just getting grumpy at 34?
