Everyone in my town says the old mill ruins are a hidden gem, but I finally went and it felt like a dead parking lot
I kept hearing people in my city (Spokane) brag about the old mill ruins down by the river, so I went on a Saturday morning in April to see what the fuss was about. The whole spot is just 4 crumbling concrete walls, some trash, and a view of a fence, and I stood there for maybe 10 minutes trying to feel whatever everyone else feels. I think people like the idea of a hidden gem more than the actual place, and nobody wants to be the one to say it out loud. The real gem is the taco truck parked 2 blocks away, but that gets zero love on the local pages. What spot in your town gets way more hype than it deserves?
