The mural on 5th and Main got painted over and I am still mad about it
Walked down 5th and Main last Tuesday and the whole wall where that old jazz mural was is now flat gray. Some crew was out there at 7am rolling paint like it was nothing, and nobody even put up a sign first. I used to cut through that alley just to look at the horn player's hands, that one detail the artist did with the blue shading. Now it is just a blank wall by a parking lot, and the city website says it was a 'maintenance decision.' Does anybody know who actually signs off on painting over public art around here, because I want to at least ask them why.
