Update: I walked the same 6 blocks in Portland for 3 months before I noticed the alley murals
Took a wrong turn behind the old bakery on SE Division and found a whole wall of painted doors that only show up when the sun hits them around 4pm. Turns out I had been walking the main road on autopilot and missing half the neighborhood. Anyone else have a spot in their city they only found by getting lost?
3 months of walking the same 6 blocks and you never once looked down a side street? That is not a hidden mural problem, that is a you problem. People walk on autopilot everywhere, that is just how being a person works, and 4pm sun hitting paint is not some secret the city was keeping from you. The doors were always there, you just had your head up in your own world like the rest of us. Getting lost in Portland for a few blocks is also pretty tough to do when the whole city is set up on a grid, so I am not buying the drama here.
