Finally cleared out my kitchen junk drawer after 2 years of avoiding it

I compared the "save everything" approach vs the "toss if not used in 6 months" method and the second one was way better. Threw out 3 expired takeout menus and a broken vegetable peeler I was holding onto for no reason. Anyone else have a drawer they keep lying to themselves about?

Oh man, I don't think the 6 month rule is quite right though. Expired menus and a broken peeler would've been obvious to toss way before that.

Stick to the furniture test instead, @amy_anderson.

Lol my "tool shed" is basically a bigger version of that drawer. I keep telling myself I'm going to organize it every spring and then I just shove stuff in deeper. Found a bag of drywall screws from like 2017 the other day that I swore I'd use for some project. Never used them. Still sitting there. The 6 month rule would probably work for me if I actually stuck to it but I'm a hoarder at heart when it comes to random hardware. Maybe next year I'll finally toss that rusty caulk gun that's been staring at me. Probably not though lmao.
