My cousin tried this last year and she ended up with three separate "maybe" piles on her dining chairs. Eventually she just started eating on the couch to avoid looking at them lol. I told her to try hiding the piles in a laundry basket like @william_harris mentioned works for him. She said no because then she'd forget about them completely. Which honestly sounds like a win to me, out of sight out of mind. But she ended up just giving up on the whole rule after a week. Some people just aren't built for that level of discipline I guess.

Glad to hear that rule actually panned out for you. Most of those organization tips sound good in theory but fall apart after a couple days. Sticking with a simple rule like that beats out fancy systems every time.

Wait wait wait, hold up. You actually stuck with it for more than three days? I tried that one touch rule last year and by the second day I had a pile of "I'll deal with this later" stuff sitting on my kitchen table. And that pile just became a permanent part of my decor for like a month.

Paige, I read somewhere that the one touch rule only works if you literally can't see the "later" pile (like putting it in a drawer or another room). Otherwise your brain just treats it like decor, same as you said.
