Rant: Spent $120 on those fancy modular closet systems and they're garbage

Bought a set of those adjustable closet cubes last month. The kind you can reconfigure. Took me 8 hours to install. Now the shelves sag with just jeans on them. The connectors pop loose if you breathe on them. My old wire shelves from 2004 held up better. Don't fall for the Instagram ads. Anyone else get burned by this?

Oh I just read something about this. Some home goods blogger tore those things apart and said they're basically just overpriced boxes of plastic junk for the 'gram.

Read a blogger who trashed them huh? I'd bet she got paid to say that by some company selling overpriced wooden shelves instead. Give me one solid reason why a system that's been updated and holds up for actual people like me is 'overpriced junk' when it's half the cost of a custom closet. Sounds like one bad review is suddenly the truth around here.

Gotta push back here, @ruby_jones. I got the same system six months ago and it's still solid. My shelves hold heavy winter coats and stacked storage bins without sagging. Maybe you got a dud or overtightened the connectors? I followed the leveling instructions exactly and double-checked every clip before loading. Mine hasn't popped loose once. Not saying they're perfect for everyone, but mine worked fine.
