That moment I found 3 bags of old mail behind my fridge

I was moving my fridge to clean behind it and found 3 full shopping bags of unopened mail dating back to 2019. One was a wedding invite from a friend I thought ghosted me. Has anyone else found hidden caches of clutter in weird spots?

That bit about the wedding invite really got me. I remember reading somewhere that people on average accumulate like 50 pounds of junk mail per year or something wild like that. Makes you wonder how much of that stuff just piles up in weird spots without us noticing. Three bags is insane though. I had a similar thing happen with old takeout menus that somehow multiplied under my car seat. Bet that friend was super confused when you didn't show up to their wedding. Hope you at least got a laugh out of it now.

Oh man, that 50 pounds stat is crazy! I didn't know that but it totally makes sense when you think about all the catalogs, credit card offers, and grocery ads that just show up. I bet half of that weight is just the thick, glossy pages from those furniture catalogs that always feel so wasteful. And yeah, the takeout menu thing is so real - I swear they have some kind of secret breeding program going on in cars and junk drawers. For the wedding invite, I actually never found out if the friend was confused because I was too embarrassed to bring it up. But now I laugh about it because looking back, I probably missed a boring reception with dry chicken and a cash bar anyway.

Three bags is insane though" - honestly same thing happened to me. Best way to deal with it is sort by date and toss anything over 6 months old, you probably don't need it.
