The day my sister said my spare room looked like a hoarder's den
She walked into my apartment in Denver last March and pointed at 3 old boxes of craft supplies I hadn't touched in a decade. Has anyone else had a family member call them out like that and it actually made you start tossing stuff?

Bought a brand new treadmill during lockdown that turned into a $1200 clothes rack. My brother came over last summer and asked if I was running a dry cleaning business out of my spare room. Ended up selling it for 200 bucks and felt way better after reclaiming that space.

That phrase "hoarder's den" really stuck with me. I used to think keeping things for years was just being practical, like saving money by not rebuying stuff later. But after my wife gently pointed out our garage was getting ridiculous, I had to admit she was right. It wasn't about the money at all. It was more about me being too lazy or sentimental to deal with it. I finally started donating and tossing things, and honestly the whole house feels lighter now.
