Hit 100 board feet of reclaimed wood saved from the dumpster
I used to think dumpster diving for wood was gross until I found a pile of oak planks behind a cabinet shop last week. Counted it up and I'm at 100 board feet now, enough for a dining table and some shelves. Anyone else grab scrap wood from local shops?

Has anyone else noticed how much better old wood smells than the stuff from the hardware store? I snagged a stack of cedar fence slats last fall and my whole garage still smells like a forest.

Old wood smells better because it’s already been a fence and had time to marinate.
