That time a neighbor watched me pick paint for an hour and just said 'you're overthinking it'

I was standing in the Sherwin-Williams aisle near the greige section last Saturday, holding two paint swatches side by side for like five minutes. This older guy from two blocks over walks up, looks at what I'm doing, and goes 'they're the same color, just pick one or your wife is gonna leave you here.' He laughed but it honestly snapped me out of it. I grabbed the slightly warmer one and it turned out fine, so has anyone else had a stranger call them out mid DIY decision and actually get it right?

Three trips to the paint store later and I finally learned to just pick one within thirty seconds or you'll talk yourself into a color you hate. That simple rule has saved me from at least four agonizing decisions.

Idk, I kinda disagree a little. Taking a beat and really thinking about it helped me avoid picking something I regretted after the first coat dried. Maybe it's just me but rushing always backfires later.
