Vent: Learned the hard way that my 'level' floor had a 2 inch slope after my bookshelf slid across the room overnight

I found this out after waking up to my bookshelf crashed into the wall and checked with a 4 foot level I borrowed from my neighbor, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with fixing a sloped floor in a 1950s house without jacking up the whole foundation?

Holy crap, a whole 2 inches overnight? That's wild, did you check if the foundation is actually settling or if it's just the floor joists sagging?

Could be groundwater pressure floating the slab.

Ngl, joists sagging wouldnt cause a full 2 inch drop overnight, that's more of a slow thing over time.
