Appreciation post: I thought networking events were a waste of time until the one at the Matrix Hotel
I went to that legal marketing mixer last month thinking I'd just grab a free drink and leave. But I ended up talking to a family law firm owner for an hour, and she showed me her Google Ads dashboard on her phone. Seeing her real numbers, like a $12 cost per lead, made me rethink my whole approach to paid search. Anyone else have a simple tip that changed how you run ads for local firms?

My buddy was running ads for a plumbing company and getting zero calls. He finally just put the actual phone number in huge font right in the ad image itself, not just the tiny clickable number. Calls started the same day. Turns out a lot of people just see the ad and want to call right then, not click through to a website.

Honestly that huge number trick can backfire big time though. People see an ad on their phone and just tap the number in the text part, they don't want to type it in from a picture. If your ad text has the number right there, that's the easiest path. Making someone stop and copy it from an image is an extra step they might just skip.

Yeah, that "huge font right in the ad image" thing is such a simple fix. It's crazy how often we overcomplicate this stuff when people just want to call a plumber.
