Had a lawyer tell me Google reviews are a waste of time - here is why I disagreed
I was at a networking event in Edmonton last month, standing by the coffee table, when a personal injury lawyer told me he doesn't bother with Google reviews. He said he gets all his clients from referrals and past cases, so online reputation doesn't matter to him. I asked him how many potential clients under 40 he had turned away just because they searched his name and saw no recent feedback. He shrugged and said younger people don't hire lawyers anyway. I pointed out that my own firm saw a 30 percent jump in calls after we responded to every review for 3 months. He just walked off to grab a napkin. Has anyone else run into lawyers who think digital marketing is optional in a city like Edmonton?

30 percent jump" is a solid stat. Most lawyers I know sleep on it too.

You ever notice how the quiet ones are always the ones who see the results? I got a buddy who runs a small plumbing outfit and he ignored reviews for years. Then he started replying to every single one, even just a quick "thanks" or "sorry about that," and his bookings went up way more than 30 percent. @ivanscott is right, most professionals sleep on that simple move.

Laughed out loud when you said he walked off for a napkin, that's such a lawyer move lol. I'm terrible at responding to stuff online myself so I get it, but even I know ignoring reviews is like showing up to a party with a bag over your head.
