I was dead wrong about Google My Business posts for law firms
For the longest time I thought those little updates you can post on GMB were a total waste of time. Like who actually reads 'we had a great settlement this week' stuff. But then I saw a personal injury lawyer in Calgary running a simple post every Tuesday about car accident stats and his phone started ringing every Wednesday afternoon. He showed me his call log from last month. 14 calls came in on Wednesdays alone from people searching exactly those terms. I switched my approach after that. Has anyone else seen real leads come from those GMB posts?

Noticed the same thing with a local plumber near me. He started posting a simple tip every Friday like "check your water heater pressure" or "how to spot a small leak". Nothing fancy, just a photo and a few sentences. His call volume on Mondays went up about 30 percent. People search for that stuff and the GMB post shows up right in the local results. It works because it looks fresh and active to Google's algorithm, not because folks are sitting there reading your update like a newsletter. The key is posting something actually useful and consistent, not just bragging about a win.

Wait, 14 calls just from posting car accident stats? That's wild.

Yeah, "just from posting car accident stats" hits different when you've seen it happen. People don't realize how much google likes fresh content on those GMB posts. I've watched a buddy in landscaping do the same thing and his phone blew up. @rowan969 nailed it about consistency and usefulness being the key. It's wild how a few sentences and a photo can spike your calls like that.
