Local firms keep ignoring Google Business Profiles and its killing their rankings
I've been watching Edmonton law firms for about 6 months now and it's wild how many don't bother updating their Google Business Profile. I checked 20 firms last Tuesday and 12 had wrong hours or no posts since 2022. Google pushes local results hard and if your profile is stale you drop way down the map pack. One firm I know fixed theirs up with photos and weekly posts and jumped 4 spots in local search within 3 weeks. Has anyone else seen a big swing just from cleaning up their profile?

Fixed ours with just photos and consistent updates, saw a jump in 2 weeks.

Nah it was probably just a coincidence with your market timing, not the photos themselves.

Oh totally, that rings a big bell for me. It's wild how much of a difference something as simple as photos and updates can make, even if it feels small to you. I did the same thing with my booth at the local flea market, just snapped better pics and wrote a little description each week (nothing fancy), and I saw foot traffic pick up noticeably within a month. You almost feel silly giving credit to the photos, but the data kind of speaks for itself. Sometimes the easiest fixes are the ones we overlook the most, you know?
