My worst week in Edmonton legal marketing started with a client who wanted to sue a goose
Last Tuesday, a new client called our firm, totally serious, because a Canada goose at Hawrelak Park had stolen his sandwich and he wanted to explore a 'property damage' claim. I spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to gently explain wildlife law while he kept asking about filing fees. The whole thing threw my content calendar off because I was supposed to write a blog post on actual personal injury limits, but my brain was just stuck on geese. It got me thinking, how do you even write an ad that filters for... that? Has anyone else in Edmonton gotten a call so wild it messed up your whole marketing vibe for a day?

After reading about the goose case, I'm glad we mostly handle slip and falls. Parkerbrown's idea to ask about non-human defendants is starting to look pretty smart.

Parkerbrown's form sounds like a good way to miss out on interesting cases.

I used to think our firm's intake form was overkill with twenty questions. After a guy called wanting to sue the city because the High Level Bridge made him sad, I added three more. Now we ask about non-human defendants right at the start.
