PSA: I think everyone's wrong about local SEO for law firms here

I see a lot of people pushing for heavy Google Ads spending, but I ran a test for my practice last year. I put $2,000 into a targeted blog content strategy about Alberta family law changes instead of ads. After six months, the blog posts brought in 15 solid leads that turned into clients, while the same amount in ads last year got me maybe 5. The content just keeps working and builds trust way better than an ad click. Has anyone else in Edmonton actually tracked their long term results from content versus just pouring cash into ads?

But what about the time it takes? Good content needs more than just money, it needs hours to write and update.

What if you hired a student to help with the research part?

But what if your practice just got lucky with those leads?

We did the same thing for our Calgary firm focusing on wills. Spent about $1500 on blog posts explaining probate changes last spring. Those three articles still bring in two or three calls a month, way more than our old ad spend ever did.
