Saw a lawyer's ad on the LRT and it got me thinking about billboards vs digital

Honestly I was sitting on the train last week near Churchill station and saw this huge ad for a PI firm with a phone number the size of my head. Made me wonder if old school stuff like bus benches and newspaper ads still pull in clients or if everyone under 40 just scrolls past them. Then I talked to a buddy who runs his own family law shop here in Edmonton and he swears Instagram reels got him three consults in one month. Which side do you think wins out for local legal marketing in 2024?

Oh I heard a legal marketing expert say the exact same thing @david_jones38, funny how fast things change.

Man my buddy runs a small real estate law shop in St. Albert and he tried billboards last year. Dropped like 800 bucks on a bus bench ad for three months. He got maybe two calls out of it and one was actually a wrong number. Then his 22 year old paralegal talked him into doing some TikToks just explaining basic stuff like what a caveat is. Totally goofy videos. But his phone started ringing from people under 40 who saw the videos and thought he was approachable. Weird times but it looks like cheap social video is eating the lunch of all the traditional stuff for anyone who isn't a giant corp.

It's wild how fast that shift has happened @mark_carr7, I see it everywhere now from plumbers to carpenters where the goofy behind the scenes videos are pulling way more business than proper ads ever did. Feels like people just trust a real face on a phone more than a polished billboard these days.
