Spent $500 on a Facebook ad campaign for my Edmonton law firm and got zero leads

I ran a targeted ad for family law services in Edmonton last month. Thought I had the audience right - local people, specific age range, interests in legal stuff. After 30 days, I had like 200 clicks but no one even filled out my contact form. Did I just waste my money or is there a trick to making these ads actually work for lawyers here? Has anyone else had this happen with social media ads in Edmonton?

Buddy of mine spent $600 on Edmonton ads for his plumbing business and got crickets too.

Not that this is the same thing, but my cousin runs a roofing company in St. Albert and he spent like $400 on Facebook ads that just got him a bunch of angry messages from people who thought he was a scam. Turned out his ad had a typo in the phone number that routed to some poor guy in Ontario getting fifty calls a day. Might be worth double checking your contact form actually works on mobile too.

Blowing money on ads that don't work seems to be the new normal, @michaeld48.
