Update: I used to think all legal marketing was just ads and billboards.

A lawyer at the Edmonton Law Courts coffee shop told me his best cases come from people who read his blog about traffic ticket disputes. Has anyone else seen good results from just writing about local legal issues?

My buddy's real estate blog basically built his whole practice from scratch.

Yeah that part about people searching for their specific problems is so true. I see it all the time with my mom looking up how to fix stuff around the house. She finds one good blog post and trusts that person for everything else.

Wait, isn't that still a form of marketing though?

That bit about the traffic ticket blog is a great point. I always figured you needed flashy ads to stand out. But a friend who does family law told me her simple posts about local custody rules bring in more real clients than her old radio spot ever did. It makes sense, people are searching for answers to their specific problems.
